Veil, or no veil? This is a question I hear all the time from my Banff brides and couples.

You may have a family veil that was passed down to you, and so the tradition of the veil holds meaning for you. You might just love the dramatic effect that a cathedral veil can add to your ceremony entrance. My advice, follow whatever calls to you and reflects your personal style.

T’s choice to go for veil wings was one of my favourite style choices from last season. And not because it was ‘trending’, but because it truly suited her style and her soul.

She was quiet, kind and gentle. She was always smiling, but also mysterious. We wanted to capture these traits in T + A's wedding portraits, and showcasing the veil wings added an opportunity to reflect the elusive softness that resonated from her.

Elope In Banff - Classic Contemporary Ceremony: Your Kids and Your Elopement

It can be so beautiful and joyful to witness families coming together on your special day.

(including your kiddos)

This decision is most definitely a matter of personal preference, as the essence of an elopement is that you are free to create your own traditions. Kids? No Kids? – it's entirely your choice!

Having your kids with you at your elopement could potentially provide a type of intimacy that does not have to live at odds with the concept of romance.

For Z + R romance was certainly not compromised, and the experience offered a chance for fun family portrait sessions, and meaningful moments to be created.

At Elope In Banff, we will coordinate the day to ensure that EVERYONE has fun, feels welcomed, and is involved.

After the ceremony, we did sneak away with Z + R, to a few extra portrait locations, giving the couple a little love break, before joining kids and family for dinner and celebrations. We also encountered some fun weather changes. The rocky mountains can be mysterious!
